PHILIPPINE PREMIERE OF REEL ROCK 12Get ready for rock climbing’s greatest stories, stars and ascents. For the first time, the Philippines will be taking part in Reel Rock Tour, an annual traveling event that screens award-winning climbing and adventure movies to audiences around the world. Born in the USA and now on its twelfth year, Reel Rock 12 showcases four new short films that will deliver heart-thumping action, big laughs, and pure inspiration.
This year’s Reel Rock Tour features Margo Hayes, the first woman to scale 5.15 (a highly difficult, almost-exclusive climbing level); Chris Sharma, a legendary climber, on his most recent feat in going rope-less above water; Brad Gobright, an up-and-coming rock star pushing his limits on a free-solo climb; and Maureen Beck, a handicapped and hardcore climber who’s inspiring the world with her one-arm ascents. All proceeds of the Manila and Cebu screening of Reel Rock 12 goes into the Bolt Fund, which consequently funds the development and maintenance of outdoor climbing crags all over the country. |
